We are very lucky at Your Saving Grace to have a team of locally based part-time staff that have a wide range of nursing and life-skills experience.

Karen Soundy – Director
Karen was born and raised on a farm in Southland and started her working career in accountancy and administration. While travelling for many years she also worked in retail, hospitality and practice management. Karen has always enjoyed working and spending time with the elderly, and to be able to create a business in this sector is a dream come true.
Ann originates from Otautau in Southland and did her initial nursing training in Invercargill, completing her degree in Wellington. Over the past forty years she has travelled extensively acquiring a vast variety of people and nursing skills. Ann’s experience includes medical/surgical nursing, midwifery and district nursing.
Kathy completed her nursing training in Marlborough, her home province. She then nursed in Canterbury and overseas prior to her move to Kaikoura. There she worked for thirty two years at the local hospital and as both a practice and district nurse. Kathy also has experience working with paraplegics and tetraplegics which she enjoys.
Judith started her nursing career at National Woman’s Hospital in Auckland, then moved to Australia where she trained as a pathology nurse. Continuing her travels Judith moved to London where she worked at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital with kidney transplant patients. More recently she has worked for an agency, nursing elderly post-operative patients in their homes.
Rosie was raised on a farm in Hindon, Otago and started her working career as a dental nurse. On moving to Dunedin she worked with the elderly which enabled many of them to remain in their homes. Since moving to the Wakatipu 20 years ago she has worked in the hospitality and wine industries.
